Altar Guild of Saint Mary

IMG_0392The Altar Guild of Saint Mary was established in February 1925 as a ministry to serve the Altar of God and the Clergy of St. John’s Church, Fort Worth. The Altar Guild cares for the appointments of the sanctuary, and the sacred vessels.

This involves prayerful preparation of the Altar and sanctuary for all services of worship, both weekend and mid-week, cleaning and polishing sacred vessels and other appointments, tending to the candles, aisle torches and washing and pressing linens. In addition to the High Altar there are also Altars in the Lady Chapel and the Children’s Chapel. Members serve on a particular team, and the teams serve on a rotating basis.

Several members also serve at weddings and funerals, assisting the Clergy. For more information please contact Trish Williamson.

Sam are so grateful for the way he led the congregation faithfully during the search process for a new rector. We hope to see Fr. Moseley and his wife back at St. John’s one day ♥️ Prayers and blessings over his next calling in the diocese! ... See MoreSee Less
