Teen Confirmation Class: The Teen Confirmation Class will be held TODAY in Guild Parlor from 10:15-11:10 and on the following dates: Feb 3, Mar 3, Apr 7.

Adult Formation: Letter to the Hebrews :  Due to Teen Confirmation, Father Klein’s Letter to the Hebrews class will NOT meet today, nor on the following dates : Feb. 3, Mar. 3, Apr. 7.

Annual Meeting/Potluck Breakfast, Sun, Jan 27:  Our Annual Parish Meeting and Potluck Breakfast will be held on Jan. 27 between the 9:00 and 11:15 services.  This is a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with your fellow parishioners while hearing from our vestry of what took place in 2018, and the goals for 2019.  Bring a breakfast casserole or side dish to share and show your support for the vestry of St. John’s. St. John’s Cookbooks Available:  A limited supply of St. John’s Cookbooks are available for $10. If you are interested in buying one, see Dorothy Gregory after service, or stop by the office during the week. Please make checks out to St. John’s with “Cookbook” in the memo. If paying with cash, please have exact change.

Vestry Nominations 2019:  Four vestry member terms expire at our Annual Meeting on January 27th: Jorge Lopez-Aguado, Cameron Crum, Olga Fry, and Gerald Gregory.  As usual,  the outgoing members form the nominating committee for recruiting their replacements.  The Diocesan Customary lists basic criteria for vestry members.  The nominee should —

1) be regular in attendance at Sunday and special services

2) have a faithful stewardship record of pledging

3) model the Christian life and believe in the faith

4) be actively involved in parish life

5) be hopeful about the life and direction of the parish, Diocese, and  the ministry of the bishop

6) support the rector’s ministry and be willing and able to work with him

If you know of someone who may be willing to serve on the vestry, or would like to serve yourself, please speak with the committee head, Gerald Gregory, or one of the other committee members.

St. Gabriel’s Conference, Jan. 31-Feb. 3:  St. Gabriel’s Conference is an immersive community of formation in the Anglican tradition of the Catholic faith for adults ages 20 and up held at Camp Crucis in Granbury, Thursday, Jan. 31 through Sunday, Feb. 3.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be occupied with praying the Daily Offices, Solemn High Mass, classes, devotions, group discussions, fun, food, fellowship, and more. It is arranged so that a typical attendee will only need to take Friday off from work. The all-inclusive cost is $199. Go to stgabrielsw.org to register.

Roe Memorial Mass, Rally, and March for Life Sat, Jan 19:  Anglicans from the Diocese of Fort Worth will gather for worship and lunch,  then travel together on DART to the public Rally and March for Life

Schedule:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             *10:00 AM – Mass at Saint Francis Anglican Church, 3838 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas. Brunch follows in the parish hall.

*12 Noon- Ride the Green Line from Walnut Hill DART Rail Station to the Arts District Station, then proceed to Guadalupe Cathedral (Pearl at Ross)

*12:30 PM – Arrive in Downtown Dallas for March and Rally

*1:15 PM – Rally at Courthouse

*2:30 PM – Return DART Rail station to ride back to Walnut Hill parking point.
